Overview

Compare PDFs locally and review the differences your way.

PainlessLens is built for people who need a practical way to check changed documents without handing their workflow to a cloud service.

If you need to find even tiny, obscure changes in documents without spending a ton of time comparing them the hard way, PainlessLens has got you covered. Many file comparison products on the market are expensive, try to pull your work into their cloud, and do not give you much flexibility for reviewing comparisons. They can also produce false positive changes or miss important differences.

PainlessLens compares two PDF files and produces an interactive HTML output file that you can filter and manipulate to see what changed between the two versions. You can email the HTML file to colleagues if needed, zip it first, or keep it yourself for archive purposes. It is useful for checking revisions to CAD plan sheets, comparing proposals, reviewing contracts, and more. It is also fun to use.

PainlessLens does not upload your documents anywhere. Everything stays on your computer or local network. You download and install the app locally. When you run it, it checks your license status, including five free uses, and checks whether you have the latest version of the app. If not, it will walk you through the update process. Your documents remain safely on your system.
